It has been a very long time since I did a blog post and though I refuse to call it a New Year's resolution, I vow to be better about it in 2012. Anyway, the reason for tonight's post is to announce that I have launched a personal Project 365 over on Wordpress. I'm really hoping to start getting caught up on my blog posts, some of which go back to last year. Case in point: this one. This was a little product shoot that I set up for fellow Etsy Dallas member, Three Yellow Starfish (www.etsy.com/shop/threeyellowstarfish). It just so happened that my little friend, here in the red dress, was having a little visitor from New York, so it worked out perfectly. Two cutie pies in adorable matching owl dresses. Does it get any more precious? I think not. I have to also give props to my little friend's mama, as she indulged me and made the sweet kerchiefs to coordinate with the dresses, completing the look. It was a HOT, but fun day! Three Yellow Starfish has been on a bit of a hiatus for the past few months, but she's got new items that will be shot and updated in her shops (another one is at: www.threeyellowstarfish.bigcartel.com) very soon, so please check her out!

Titanmoon | Dallas Entertainment Photographer: Indie Rock Band

Titanmoon are Tyler Casey, Trey Ware, Zack Felton, and Nate Schneidewent and they are "just a simple rock band trying to make a difference in this beautiful world" (grabbed from www.facebook.com/titanmoonMUSIC).

To say that Titanmoon are simply a good, local indie rock band would be a gross understatement of who they really are. Sure, they are a group of fun-loving guys who know how to jam, but they're people on a mission, too. Spend an hour or two with them and their awesome manager and you quickly learn that they are a band with heart who want to spread a little goodness to the world.

Their aim is to share their beliefs with an audience that would otherwise be unreachable, bringing together different cultures and world views through various humanitarian efforts and projects. Their music is a means to an end, a positive one. Talk to them about their experiences in Japan and Pakistan and you will understand a little bit about what makes them who they are, not only as a band, but as a bunch of good guys.

Mr. N is One | Grapevine Family Photography

Last summer during my sunflower mini-sessions, my BFF came out one evening to do a little portrait and product photography for her blossoming hair accessory business, Silla Soup. Is she not beautiful? Yeah, try telling that to her. I spent a good chunk of time trying to shoot her as she AVOIDED my camera. And then when she did look over at me, it was with these looks of, "I so do not want to be here." She doesn't like compliments and she squirms when you praise her almost in any way, so do me a favor and when you see her walking down the street some time, would you spend a few minutes and gush? Because she's really pretty awesome and she needs to hear it more often. Love you, my friend! Rah rah rah!

3rd Time's The Charm | Cabin Fever Photography

My baby. I couldn't do successive posts on my older two kids and leave out the third, so here he is, playing in the snow. He is our funniest and most entertaining child, you can ask my husband. He is also my little koala bear, always attached to me. Of the three, he is also my smallest child, but don't let his short stature fool you because not only is he a hoot, but he's got spunk and he's never gonna go down without a fight. Maybe that's because he's the baby, I don't know. What I do know is that he makes me smile. He makes all of us smile.

I love my baby, my baby. He will always be my baby.

My big kid turned 9 on January 23rd and we'd been meaning to head out to do some portraits for him, but just hadn't gotten around to it yet. I'm so happy that we were able to take advantage of the snow that fell last night and all this morning! Yay!

I look at this big boy and can't believe that this is the last year of his age being in the single digits. Where does the time go? I remember so well a time when my life was consumed with pregnancy tests, fertility visits, and heartbreaking disappointment. When I look at this kid, I praise God that we got to be blessed with him - that he is who made me a mom. I couldn't have dreamed for a better son and on some days, I wonder if we deserve him and his heart of gold.

I love my boy. He makes me so proud.

Deep Freeze of 2011 | Cabin Fever Children's Photography

Well, we are one of the over 2 dozen U.S. states hit by this deep winter freeze, so my kids have been out of school since Tuesday. I don't think that Texas schools have ever been closed for 3 days in a row due to inclement weather before! Is anybody else out there going bat**** crazy from the cabin fever?! Anyway, I can't remember the last time that I got to do a blog post just for myself, so I sat and edited these images for the purpose of posting them here.

The cold and the dreariness prompted me to style her in some fun colors, all centered around her natural "brightness" and this vintage baby afghan that I bought recently at an antique store. Oh, and as a friend of mine pointed out, these are appropriate for heralding Valentine's Day because of the hearts on her tights, too. :) I hope that everybody is keeping warm... and safe. Hang in there! Spring is near, I can feel it!

What seems like forever ago, I got to spend a morning with this sweet baby girl at her home. She was already bigger than what I call a "fresh" newborn and very alert. It took her mom a little time and patience to get her settled in to a good slumber so that we could get these sweet shots, but it was so worth it! Class of 2011: Megan | Southlake Senior Photographer

My gorgeous senior rep, Megan, is a total sweetheart. She's not only tall and beautiful (Hello, Angelina Jolie lips and Jennifer Garner dimples!), but she is an all-around awesome gal. She aspires to become a nurse and I truly believe that whether it be nursing or anything else she sets her mind to, she will accomplish it.

I love that all of my senior reps this year are such awesome representatives of what 18-year old girls should be. They are all sweet and talented, good students, and so impressive, each and every one of them. I am so proud to call them YLK photography reps and I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

A Pretty Lady and Her Boys | Fort Worth Family Photographer

Back in November, I got to meet with this handsome family for a relaxed session in Fort Worth. As I understand it, it was a job just for Mom to get everyone's schedules straight so that we could have our session. I guess that's what happens when you've got grown kids! Anyway, as most people know, having one's picture taken isn't usually a favorite past time of most men. I am glad to know from some feedback I got, however, that they didn't think our shoot was half bad. Hahaha! All I know is that I enjoy each of my sessions for different reasons... getting to hang out with little kids is fun, but spending a couple of hours with adults has its own brand of fun. Enjoy!

I had the joy of photographing this precious newborn and it was such a treat because I had gotten to take pictures of her family at my fall mini-sessions when she was all cozy inside her mama's belly. It is always such a neat feeling when I get to take someone's maternity portraits and then get to meet the little one. I almost always walk away from a session feeling "connected" to my clients in some way, but being with a family for "in" and "out" portraits makes me feel even closer to them. A Secret Garden | Highland Park Children's Photographer

Some very special clients of mine bought several sessions from me to give as gifts when one of them was named partner in his practice last year. The mother of these sweet girls was the recipient of one of them.

When we corresponded about wardrobe and location, she told me that they were going to wear party dresses. I imagined frilly, frou-frou fashion of the hot pink variety, as that is naturally what most little girls are apt to wear. I think I almost did cartwheels when they stepped out of their car in these gorgeous dresses from Crewcuts and Gap! Gah! Mama did good!

Anyway, we had a lovely little romp through this magical park in Highland Park. I loved the location so much that this session was the inspiration for the Easter mini-sessions which I will be holding in late-March/early-April, entitled "Fairytale." Stay tuned for more info!

In Memory | A Tribute

I had the privilege of meeting Tommy Camacho once, but cannot claim to have really known him. He was the beloved husband of one of my oldest friends and he passed from this earth the day after New Year's, following a valiant battle against cancer. What I do know of Tommy is that he was first and foremost a cowboy, that he had faith in God and family, that he had the love of his precious wife, and that he loved her.

People may read this post and feel discomfort or be repulsed, thinking it too morbid. And whether or not there are those who may judge or point fingers, I am choosing to demonstrate my love in this small way for the man who I believe was one of the greatest things to have happened in my friend's life.

I know that she is hurting and that she is angry that he is no longer here with her in body. I also sense the loss she feels for the future that should have been for them. But I also know that she will want to remember every detail of every last moment that she had with him. I know this because I know her. And love her very much.

So this is my tribute to my friend and her beloved. If you walk away with anything after seeing this post, let it be that you remember to love your loved ones every moment of every day.

Paige, miracles happen all the time all around us. People may think that a miracle would have been if Tommy had stood right up and walked out of that hospital in Houston, but I believe that Tommy was the miracle. And you were his.

A Sari Ceremony | Colleyville Event Photographer

I cannot even begin to tell you how I forgot to do this blog post, but I did. I can only attribute it to amnesia with a touch of insanity. Oy.

This quite gorgeous little girl had her big "coming-of-age" Indian sari ceremony as she turned five and she took my breath away with her beauty mingled with the stunning colors of her traditional dress. I was so honored to be asked to capture this special moment in her life. I'm just sorry that she was not feeling well that evening and couldn't enjoy her day as well as she should have!

Best wishes and many blessings on her as she blossoms into a beautiful young lady!

2010 Etsy Dallas Jingle Bash | YLK photography

Here are some photos that were taken at the Jingle Bash (the Palladium Ballroom was our venue) last month. They were taken by the fabulous Lauren Allen of Lauren Allen Photography (Thanks, Lauren!). As you can see from the second image, there were lots of people waiting in line to get in. The first 50 of them received one-of-a-kind Bash Bags which were filled with freebies from many of the artists and other sponsors. I'm posting a pic of the floorplan here too in case you missed the show. I was Booth #27! Woot woot! I loved my spot. The next to the last photo is all of the 2010 artists, each of us holding a favorite item from our booths. The last pic is obviously moi. Meet the lovely Bree. She and her mom were so much fun to hang out with on the evening of our shoot. They were both ready and willing to go anywhere and try anything. Ask me how much I love it when clients are willing to be adventurous and possibly even step a little outside of their comfort zone?

Anyway... she's not only gorgeous, but so sweet, too. (How lucky am I that I have had the good fortune of shooting these AWESOME high school seniors? Seriously, there has not been one rotten egg among them!) And the girl is tall and leggy... she should be a model. I mean, she already has a doppelganger in Taylor Swift. Right? People have actually mistaken her for Taylor! Haha.

Whatever the case... it was a pleasure to take her senior portraits and I wish only the very best for this beautiful girl as she approaches her commencement. Best wishes for a wonderful future, Bree!

40 Years | Colleyville Family Photographer

How awesome is this? A family celebrating their Mom & Dad/Grandma & Grandpa's 40th wedding anniversary with a family portrait memento! It was a fun and lively session with these cute kiddos who had come out for my summertime mini-sessions this year... plus 1! Yes, we also celebrated the addition of a little sister to these two handsome brothers.

There's a fun story that I got to hear during our session and that is of this patriarch's long-lost love -- his '69 Chevelle. I'm sure I'd mess it all up trying to retell it, though, so to cut to the chase... they had this awesome car back when they were first in love, ended up selling it, then recently FOUND the very car after a 12-year search to track it down. It had never been wrecked and the only difference was that a subsequent owner had painted it. So anyway, they are restoring it to its original glory and hopefully (pretty please?) one day I'll get to snap some shots of them sitting in it. A Morning of Fun with Two Siblings | Dallas Family Photographer

Did I have fun at this session? Yes, indeedy, I did! These two siblings were so ready and willing to do everything I asked and their personalities shined through. I wouldn't be far off the mark if I said that his pipe and her blue shoes were vying to steal the whole show, though. I LOVE it when clients bring fun stuff to their sessions! It makes it so much more personal and FUN. Oh, and Mom made an appearance for a few snaps, too! (I should mention that she has been avidly supporting me since I opened up shop last summer - thanks, D!) Anyway... this goes down as one of my favorite sessions to-date. A and E, you guys rock. Look at this bundle of boy! I got to spend some time with him a few weeks ago and once again, I had a little difficulty getting this baby to settle into a deep, drowsy nap. I must not have the magic touch or something! All he wanted to do was eat and pee! I have to say that it made for some funny entertainment for the adults huddled around him, though. He is definitely gifted in the pee-pee department, that's for sure! Anyway, may this little guy and his parents be blessed with joy and love.

I got an "emergency" call a few weeks ago from one of my favorite families because they needed to do their maternity session in a jiffy before going in for an early doctor-ordered c-section to bring "Baby Brother" into the world. Luckily, I was free and was able to meet them just two days before he came.

When I say that they are one of my favorite families, I really mean it. They are so much fun to be around and their sweet girl is just amazing. They're the kind of people who inspire you to try to be a better parent. And this isn't because they're both pediatricians, either. Nope, they're just really good, fun, nurturing parents, and the evidence of this just radiates from the whole family.

This is the sweet firstborn of our awesome family pediatrician and her equally fabulous attorney husband (I think that Li'l Miss is gonna be pretty smart, don't you? No pressure!). They welcomed me into their beautiful home a few weeks ago and I got to spend a good amount of time with their precious girl who is a GOOD sleeper, I might add! She didn't even seem to mind all of my man-handling for the sake of "getting the shot."

I love newborns. Babies are just yummy and everybody knows it. But I also love new parents. There is just something about becoming a parent for the first time, isn't there? New parents are endearing. I just love watching them interact with one another and with their little ones when everything is brand new. When even the love is new.

Recently, I met with Miss P and her folks for her 1st birthday portrait session. She'd fallen asleep in the car by the time they'd arrived, so I wondered if she would warm up to me. Well, in no time at all, she was smiling and being adventurous, keeping both of her parents (and me!) on their toes!

What's funny is that at the time of her session, I had no idea that she is the granddaughter of one of my mom's closest church friends! It's a small world, I tell ya.

She flew in from L.A. a few weeks ago to meet with her bride for bridal portraits, so I tagged along to see the venue and snap a few. I LOVE being a 2nd shooter! You get to have all of the fun and less stress! Haha! Anyway, I stayed on the sidelines while Karen did her thing and came away with a few shots myself.

Meet Abbi, my gorgeous model for the gigantic sunflower field shoot. Little did we know that by the time we made it over there, the flowers would all be wilted in the hot, Texas sun. Still, we used their dramatic look to our advantage and I can say with absolute sincerity that I'm GLAD that they were dead! Hahaha! I love the contrast of her youth and beauty against the aging of the flowers. There is movement in these pics without there actually being movement... all because of the sunflowers. This is me trying to be poetic, here. This is my accidental ode to Van Gogh. :)

My gosh, but this was a FUN session! Two JV cheerleaders + one superstar soccer player = three fun, girly BFFs! They were so full of life and excited that it was contagious, I tell you. Everything I asked them to do, they did with flair and gusto (dream come true for a photographer, lemme tell ya). Being around them and then getting to edit these photos, it just made me long for those days of being 15. Sigh. I want a do-over!

I was so thrilled when asked by a local friend if she could set up a photo session for her niece's baby boy who was to visit from Saudi Arabia. (I'm going global, folks! Haha.) I should have known how beautiful this kid was going to be, but holy wow! Not only was he a dreamy baby to photograph, but he was SO GOOD, my heart just melted.

Now, I believe that all children are special. Yes, of course they are. But it is true that some are waited-for and cried-over more than others. This precious boy, the product of a gorgeous joining of Spanish, Lebanese, French and Syrian lines is one of those children. He was waited and waited for... and now he is. And he is such a blessing and so loved.

Several weeks ago, I had to travel to Abilene to attend the funeral of the father of one of my oldest friends. It was a very sad occasion, but I was still happy to go because I so seldom get to see my West Texas friends.

While I was in town, I was able to do a quick session for another friend on the campus of Abilene Christian University. Mr. K and Miss B are the spitting images of their parents and I couldn't help but chuckle to myself as I edited these photos. Looking at their faces takes me back to a time and place, man, I gotta' tell ya'. I loved growing up where I did... and as I say... I love me some West Texans.

This is a session that was in the works for a very long time. My friend Patty had wanted to get some photos of her with her two awesome, grown kids, only it proved pretty hard to schedule!

Firstly, I should mention that Patty's husband is the master of dental implants at Oliver Dental Implants in Colleyville. He practices next door to my husband and is also our office's landlord! Hahaha. Anyway, they are good people and we love them.

Anyway, our session was difficult to schedule namely because of the crazy touring life of Patty's son, Jason. Jason is the drummer of a band called Neon Indian and they are making a name for themselves as one of the foremost chillwave bands of the decade! Rolling Stone even named them "one of the hottest new bands of 2010" and they have been written about in SPIN as well as Pitchfork, too. If you haven't checked them out yet, you should, because chances are that you will be hearing more about Neon Indian in the near future. Congratulations on all of your success, Jason!

I'd just like to say here that Patty is an inspiration as a mother. She is so obviously proud and supportive of her children and their accomplishments, but she makes it so evident that it is their character and goodness that are most important to her. Born the daughter of a minister, it is her faith that shines -- faith in the Lord and faith in her family. God bless, Patty.

I'm getting ready for a busy fall season, so I thought that I'd go ahead and put the bug in everybody's ear that I will be doing FALL and HOLIDAY MINI-SESSIONS this year. No details as to theme, location or time have been decided yet, but I do have dates! The fall mini-sessions will be held the weekend of October 2nd and the holiday mini-sessions will be the weekend of November 6th! Sunflowers! Aaaaaahhhhh! By now, everybody knows how much I love flowers (who doesn't?). Anyway, a few weeks ago I had a couple of evenings set aside for some mini-sessions in a field of sunflowers. We had no rain and it wasn't even ridiculously hot! To be completely honest, I was kind of surprised that more people hadn't signed up for it. I guess it was wishful thinking on my part, but I kind of knew that these were going to turn out great. Maybe more people will be on-board for next year's! (Because, again, to be honest with you, I really like doing the sunflowers over the bluebonnets.)

Anyway, I am so happy to say that save for one new client, everyone who participated were repeats! If you've been following me since I started this biz last year, you'll probably recognize them in this post. I love seeing families grow and grow up through my lens! It just warms my heart and puts a smile on my face...

Soak Up the Sun Mini-Sessions | Colleyville Family Photographer

Near the end of June, before the unfortunate incident with my external hard drive going kaput, I had the pleasure of meeting with several awesome families for a weekend of summertime-themed mini-sessions. We did everything from fun at a splash park to "WATERMELON!" to showing our red, white & blue patriotism. It was so much fun for me and I hope that it was as much fun for everyone who came out.

Two of my families are cousins who were booked back-to-back so that I could get some group shots that they planned to give as a gift to their grandparents. How sweet, right? I love it when things work out like that!

Another of my families, as it turns out, has a well-known photographer as the head of their household. I'm so glad that I was clueless as to this fact at our shoot because I would have been all thumbs the entire time! Anyway, his name is Tadd Myers and his work speaks for itself.

And last but certainly not least, one of my families booked this mini as a surprise gift to their dad who will be serving in the Navy, far away from home, for the next year. They are making such big sacrifices to serve God and our country, bless them.

OK, so most of you, my friends, know that I have been working on adding still life work to my portfolio so that I can finally open my Etsy shop. Many of you have asked "When are you going to start selling your still life?" and this is how I'm hoping to get it all off the ground...

If I am approved to be a seller at this year's Etsy Dallas Jingle Bash, I will be working my little booth on November 20th, selling gift tags, bookmarks, greeting cards, postcards, prints, and posters! The Princess Alexa Dress Up Closet at Cook Children's Medical Center | Fort Worth Event Photographer

Last Friday, I volunteered at the grand opening of the Princess Alexa Dress Up Closet at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth. It was such a great party with a marvelous turn-out! I can't begin to put into words the happiness that was seen on so many little faces that day... as well as on the faces of the Princess Alexa founders and volunteers. Alexa Aigner's 2nd Angel Day was celebrated with such love and remembrance that this photographer had a hard time keeping her eyes dry to work her camera!

I came away from this event with a few things...

1. There are good, thoughtful people in this world. I saw a mother and her two little boys getting ready to leave the party empty-handed and when one of the volunteers asked why the boys hadn't gotten costumes or other goodies, the mom smiled and said, "Oh, they're not sick. There are other kids who can enjoy those things." You know, in many cases, people would jump at the chance to get a freebie. It just made me pause and smile.

2. Conviction and dedication go a long way. I look at Alexa's parents in pure wonder and amazement. When Crys got up to give her speech for the festivities, I just couldn't believe her poise. She simply radiated... and this strength could only come from God and her love for her little girl.

3. Children are all special and deserve to be healthy and happy. The Princess Alexa Foundation is not able to heal the bodies of these children who they touch, but HAPPINESS IS HEALING even if it means giving joy to a child simply through PLAY.

4. Dreams can come true.

I think that this is the "dreamiest" set of photos I've ever done for anyone! They are my cousin's twins and these are their 2nd birthday portraits. From the setting to their outfits, when I went to edit them, I immediately felt that they should portray a dream-like mood and I hope that I was able to accomplish this. I have to admit that I can't tell them apart (hahaha!) but boy are they cute!

A few months ago, I somehow stumbled upon this retro restaurant/bar/bowling alley online and found that it was located reasonably close by. It is the only location of its kind in Texas. Anyway, I had the idea that it would be a fabulous location for portraits, so I gave them a call. Lo 'n behold, I was seemingly the first photographer to call and ask, "Hey, can I use your space to shoot people?" Haha. They were very cool on the phone and I simply made a note of it as a possible future location.

Well, coming back from the event that I photographed, I decided to call and ask them if I could come by and have a tour and talk to the manager about coming by with clients in-tow at some point. Am I glad I did, or what?! LOVE, love, love this space! It is so fabulously cool, I can barely stand it.

Anyway, it's called Splitsville and it is a luxury bowling lounge, located in Arlington. After my little tour of the facilities, Lindsey agreed to be my model for a few minutes. Woo-hoo! Thanks, Lindsey! I've also agreed to come back and take more photos of some of the other employees for Splitsville's promotional purposes. I'm so excited!

It's the perfect place to party it up with friends and a great place for date night, folks, so go and check it out. Splitsville in Arlington Highlands, TX!

The Princess Alexa Playroom at The Fort Worth Ronald McDonald House | Fort Worth Event Photographer

I was again honored to be a part of a Princess Alexa Foundation event today -- the unveiling of the newly designed Princess Alexa Playroom at the Ronald McDonald House in Fort Worth! The wonderfully dedicated people over at PAF had the old playroom remodeled, redecorated and re-stocked (with new toys, some donated from sales at Teacher's Tools!) and they have done a phenomenal job. I was able to see some "before" photos of the room and it is literally a Cinderella transformation, folks! What wonderful work they have done for the families of some seriously ill children. Bravo!

This is the charming and lovely family of a couple of people with whom I have lots of connections... you know, your basic "it's a small world" stories. We went to the same church oh-so-many years ago and have friends and family who are all connected in various ways. Anyway, it was so nice to see them after so many years and obviously to meet their two sweet girls.

Mom did a great job styling everyone, as you can see. We hit Nash Farm first and then headed out to Westlake to snap a few with the bluebonnets (this was before security started cracking down on that area and kicking all of the photographers and their clients off the premises!).

Fun & Funky | McKinney Children's Photographer

I had the pleasure of spending some time with these gorgeous girls at a custom tailored "fun and funky" session at Storybook Ranch in McKinney, TX. It's been months and months and this post has been long coming. I am fortunate to know these sweet and sassy girls, most of whom are models for The Campbell Agency and Kim Dawson Agency. Their moms were just sweet enough to let me "borrow" them for a couple of hours... all because I had an "idea" and wanted to see how it would turn out. Thank you all for your time and effort!

Make-up was provided by Kristin Jacobson-Estell, Independent Sales Director for Mary Kay Cosmetics. Hair accessories were provided by Silla Francis of Silla Soup. Wardrobe and styling was a joint collaboration by the moms of these phenomenal girls. And a big thank you to Lynn Kim Miller who allowed us on her property for this shoot!

Back in April, I had a session with this happy family of three. Grandma came along for the ride too because she is one of Mr. T's caregivers and his mom not only wanted to have some photos of herself with her mom, but also wanted to document her special place within their family. The relationship between grandma and grandson was immediately apparent when she stood behind me, making this shy, sweet boy giggle and chuckle... the only way a grandmother can.

Now here's the fun part. Through the course of our conversation, we figured out that my parents have actually known them for a very long time! In fact, Mr. T's mom had been a patient of my dad's as a teenager and she was kind enough to share with me her high esteem for him as a doctor. Just another "small world" story, I guess.

Bluebonnet Mini-Sessions | Las Colinas Children's Photographer

Some of you already know this, but I have been ill for the last couple of months. No fun. Well, three days before I got my diagnosis (mononucleosis) I had a line-up of over 10 families for these bluebonnet minis on a Saturday in mid-April. The terrible, horrible, no good, very bad thing was that there was so much RAIN AND MUD! I ended up only being able to shoot three families that day and everyone else was so sad. I guess it ended up being a "good" thing for me, seeing as I had mono at the time and didn't even know it. Sigh.

Anyway, I have been on sick leave from photo shoots and editing so that I could concentrate my efforts on recuperating and on my family. I'm back now, and ready to use my creative juices again!

Class of 2011 Senior Reps Contest!

COME ON AND REPRESENT YLK PHOTOGRAPHY AT YOUR SCHOOL!

HERE'S WHAT YOU DO:

First of all, you must be an entering SENIOR in the fall of 2010, fun, laid-back and OUTGOING, reasonably (haha) photogenic, and comfortable in front of the camera. You have to be willing to trust me, which might mean getting dirty (I literally mean dirt... like, maybe taking off your shoes and wading into a creek bed somewhere, etc.)... basically, you gotta' want to have fun and at least fake a smile at my lame jokes. ;)

Secondly, send me an email to YLKHSK@YMAIL.COM with ONE pic of yourself that you believe is the best representation of YOU. Introduce yourself with details, like about what you like to do, hobbies, activities, etc. I'll need your name, email, phone number, as well as your Mom and/or Dad's name(s), and the name of your high school.

Thirdly, if you aren't already, BECOME A FACEBOOK FAN (OR "LIKE" MY FAN PAGE) and SUGGEST MY PAGE TO YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY! As I receive your submissions, I will upload them to an album on my page. THE PERSON WITH THE MOST LIKES WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE CHOSEN! But that's just a bonus because I'm going to choose a few others anyway (both girls and guys, from a variety of schools).

HERE'S THE DEAL:

You get a full senior photo session with me which includes 3 outfit changes and a variety of outdoor, natural light locations. We will discuss what overall "looks" we will be going for and figure out what backdrops will work best. And this will all take place during the upcoming summer months, by the way.

My regular 2010 senior session is $350, but for my reps, it will be $250 which includes the session and a disc of 20+ fully edited high resolution images (chosen by me) with copyright release. I will also give you re-sized, watermarked images for use on your social networking sites and blogs. You will also receive REP CARDS with your own images and my information, which you will hand out during the first few weeks of school in the fall.

For every friend that you refer who books a session with me, you/your immediate family will receive a $25 credit toward a future session with me (up to 10 credits, totaling $250).

We met in the garden of their church, Trinity Episcopal, in Fort Worth and had ourselves a laid-back little session as they showed off their Easter best and educated me on the eating habits of dinosaurs ("Herbivores are too nice.").

A couple of months ago, their mom, Dr. Shannon Baker, wrote a diary entry for Fort Worth Child and you can read it here.
