This is the sweet firstborn of our awesome family pediatrician and her equally fabulous attorney husband (I think that Li'l Miss is gonna be pretty smart, don't you? No pressure!). They welcomed me into their beautiful home a few weeks ago and I got to spend a good amount of time with their precious girl who is a GOOD sleeper, I might add! She didn't even seem to mind all of my man-handling for the sake of "getting the shot."

I love newborns. Babies are just yummy and everybody knows it. But I also love new parents. There is just something about becoming a parent for the first time, isn't there? New parents are endearing. I just love watching them interact with one another and with their little ones when everything is brand new. When even the love is new.

Recently, I met with Miss P and her folks for her 1st birthday portrait session. She'd fallen asleep in the car by the time they'd arrived, so I wondered if she would warm up to me. Well, in no time at all, she was smiling and being adventurous, keeping both of her parents (and me!) on their toes!

What's funny is that at the time of her session, I had no idea that she is the granddaughter of one of my mom's closest church friends! It's a small world, I tell ya.

Anyway, many blessings to you on your first birthday, Miss P!

The B Sides | Grapevine Family Photographer

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing the family of one of my friends from junior high. In fact, she was the first friend that I made when my family moved here from West Texas way back when.

Anyway, it was such a treat to see her after so many years and to meet her beautiful family! And it was a fun session, as I hope you will see from this sampling of images... enjoy!
