JZ-J Boyz in Da Hizzy | Dallas Family Photographer

Don't ask me about the title of this post. I'm trying to sound hip and probably failing miserably. Hahaha. Anyway, about two weeks ago, I had a fun session with a bunch of rowdy boys! Actually, "rowdy" is not the right word. They were just silly. Namely the middle one. Heehee. Oh, they're such good kids, I could tell immediately. The eldest is smart and responsible, the middle one is a sweet ham, and the youngest... well, he's the roly-poliest, happy 6-month old I have seen in a long time! What a fun morning... and here are some shots from my time with them.

Note: These photos were taken at their home and Storybook Ranch, McKinney, TX.

Silla Soup Trunk Show at Little Bean {Event} | Dallas Event Photographer

This morning, I went to cheer on my good friend at her very first trunk show at Little Bean, a brand new children's clothing shop in Dallas. She is the creative mind behind Silla Soup, "handmade hodge podge finery", and also has her own Etsy shop. Her hairclips are all handmade and I can back her quality 100%. These beautiful little works of art are made with LOVE, people. They are just amazing. Congratulations, friend! I am so happy for you.

Small Fry | Dallas Child Photographer

Last weekend, my family, in-laws and I went on a little trip down to Galveston, TX to spend some time by the murky water. Ha. In all seriousness, a good time was had by all even if the water was poo-poo brown. Anyway, while there, I had the lovely occasion to spend a few hours with my "little sister", her husband, and son, Small Fry. While growing up in West Texas this little fella's mommy was the closest thing I had to my having a real-life sister, you see. Needless to say, I was overjoyed to finally get to meet him! What a gorgeous baby boy! Looking at these pictures of him makes my uterus ache!

X Man | Dallas Child Photographer

I was originally supposed to photograph little "X Man" the Sunday before last, but we got completely rained-out, so we rescheduled for this past Sunday and had ourselves a great little session! He is such a sweet baby and so easy-going, it was a breeze even though it was pretty darn hot for a morning shoot! Seeing his thick, black hair reminded me so much of one of my boys when he was little. Awwww. Anyway, this handsome guy is turning ONE. Bless you, little man. Happy birthday!

Note: These photos were taken on Main Street in Grapevine, TX.

Free Photo Session Contest | Dallas Family Photography

YLK photography is on Facebook and I am at 199 fans! A mere 1 away from 200! To mark this little milestone, I thought that I would try something fun. The rules are easy.

1. Spread the word about YLK photography and encourage your friends and neighbors to become fans at http://www.facebook.com/YLKphotography

2. Choose someone you know (who is already a fan or has newly become a fan) and post on my wall your reason(s) for believing that they should win the free photo session.** It better be good because not just any Joe Schmo is gonna win this thing!

3. YOUR incentive is that if I pick the friend for whom you voted, you will receive a credit of $25 toward a future session with me.

4. Wait until August 21st for my announcement about who has won!

My apologies to all of you who are not in the DFW area. If only I had a magic carpet!

Thanks, guys! I hope you decide to play along!

** If you do not have a Facebook account, you may choose to "follow" my blog and leave your vote for a friend in the form of a comment to this post. Of course, you've got to forward my URL and get that friend to follow/fan me first!

Mr. C | Dallas Child Photographer

I photographed Mr. C at the beginning of the week and though I was sweatin' from the heat anyway, this little man had me workin' my tail off the entire time! He is such a curious and adventurous little guy, it was all we could do to keep him from eating all of the gravel in sight! Ha. The photo shoot was his grandma's treat to celebrate his milestone 1st birthday, so it was special and I was so happy to get to capture this time in this precious boy's life. Happy birthday, big boy! Many, many blessings to you!
